CLEP Exams

All students who wish to take a CLEP exam must first register online through the CLEP My Account Portal. You must select the test you wish to take and pay your CLEP fee before you arrive at the Testing Center. It is your responsibility to register for the correct test. If you have any questions, please ask in advance. Print your registration ticket and bring it with you to the Testing Center after you have set up your testing appointment.

In addition, a $25 administration fee will be assessed by ACU when you come for your test. This can be charged to an ACU student account or paid with cash, check, or money order.

A student is not eligible for this test if she/he has already taken one of the courses available for credit. For example: A student who has taken ENGL 112 cannot take the College Composition Modular test to earn credit for ENGL 111. Or if a student has taken SPAN 111, he cannot take the CLEP test to earn additional, higher-level Spanish credit.

To help you prepare for the CLEP exams, you may want to purchase the CLEP Official Study Guide from the Campus Store or order through the CLEP web site. Individual Subject Study guides are available to download for $10 each. A copy of the CLEP Official Study Guide is also available in the ACU Library on two-hour reserve. You may ask for it at the circulation desk.

All credit earned will be processed by the Registrar’s Office and recorded on the student’s official transcript. A $50 recording fee will be charged per course. For more information, review the CLEP policy.

For more information on credit by exam, visit the Registrar.
