Committed to elevating education and empowering learners to reach their full potential, Dr. Rojas is both honored and excited to be part of the Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership program, which challenges students to become professionals of integrity and poise.
Living the Academic Life
Raised in sunny California, Dr. Rojas understands the importance of providing quality education to diverse student populations. Even as a child, he was drawn to the academic world, fascinated by its ability to shape lives and open doors. As a naturally curious person, he made it his mission to enter academia, striving to uplift marginalized communities into positions of leadership. After earning his degree in Business Administration and Management from DeVry University, he set out to empower others through education.
Initially working in high school advising, Dr. Rojas helped students navigate college applications, scholarships and opportunities to achieve their academic dreams. Over time, he began to reflect on his own academic journey, questioning whether he, too, should pursue further education. Though he never imagined himself teaching at the university level, he recognized his strengths in business and organization. This realization led him to earn a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Pepperdine University.
“I never thought I could have a future in teaching or business,” said Dr. Rojas. “But God has a funny way of putting His desires in our hearts. So, I followed Him, and there I was, graduating with my MBA.”
From that moment, his career took off. He became the Director of Admission and Field Recruitment at DeVry Education Group, later serving as National Director of Admissions for Lincoln Educational Services before advancing to Vice President of Enrollment Management at National University. Along the way, he earned a Ph.D. in Organizational Development and Change from Fielding Graduate University.
Despite his success in higher education administration, something was missing—his direct connection with students. Determined to return to teaching, Dr. Rojas sought out in-person and online adjunct positions.
Finding ACU and Calling it Home
When asked what led him to ACU, Dr. Rojas has one simple answer: God. Though he was already teaching entrepreneurship, organizational leadership, strategy and operations management at Los Angeles Pacific University, he was eager to expand his reach beyond California. In what he describes as a God-ordained moment, he received a call from Dr. Meghan Hope, dean of the College of Leadership and Professional Studies at ACU Online.
“I got the call, and I just thought, ‘Wow! How did God do that?’ It was exciting because I was interested in faith-based universities and non-traditional students, and here it was—the right opportunity,” said Dr. Rojas.
Since 2021, Dr. Rojas has served as an adjunct faculty member in the Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) program at ACU Online. Passionate about guiding doctoral candidates through their academic journeys, he has served on multiple dissertation committees, providing invaluable insight and expertise. Beyond the classroom, he actively mentors aspiring higher education professionals seeking to make an impact in K-12 schools and universities.
As the newest Vice President of Enrollment at Bay Path University, Dr. Rojas integrates his real-world experience into the classroom—an approach his students deeply appreciate.
“Our online students want to see how a terminal degree applies in the real world,” said Dr. Rojas. “It’s important to show how the skills and knowledge they’re learning now will shape their careers in the future.”
Throughout his career, Dr. Rojas has championed the importance of academic and professional growth. He believes the Ed.D. program fosters a supportive learning environment that encourages connectivity and vocational calling. As someone who has followed his own calling, he hopes to inspire students to become leaders and changemakers in their fields.
“My job is to shape the future of educational leadership,” said Dr. Rojas. “Whether it’s preparing students to serve or lead in their workplaces, our role as educators is to ensure they are equipped to inspire and guide others in their careers.”
