Princeton Review recognizes ACU’s game design program

For the fifth year, ACU has earned a top ranking on The Princeton Review’s just-published list saluting the top 50 undergraduate schools to study game design for 2020 today.

The Princeton Review chose the schools based on a survey it conducted in 2019 of 150 institutions offering game design coursework and/or degrees in the United States, Canada and some countries abroad.
The survey collected information about the schools’ game design programs in four areas: academics, faculty, technology and career prospects. In all, more than 40 data points were analyzed for the final tallies.

“We highly recommend Abilene Christian University and every one of the schools that made our lists for 2020,” said Robert Franek, The Princeton Review’s editor-in-chief. “Their faculties are outstanding and their facilities are awesome. Just as impressive: ACU’s alumni include many of the video game industry’s most prominent artists, designers, developers and entrepreneurs.”

ACU’s game design program is part of the digital entertainment technology curriculum, which equips students with the tools needed to create digital content and learn about the creative processes behind concepts and design.

The Princeton Review developed its “Top Game Design Schools” project in 2009 with assistance from a national advisory board that helped design the project survey and ranking list methodology. Board members included administrators and faculty from respected game design programs, and professionals from some of the top gaming companies.

The Princeton Review also is known for its annual rankings of colleges, business schools and law schools in dozens of categories.

The Princeton Review teams up with PC Gamer magazine as its reporting partner on this project, and the magazine’s May issue includes a feature with some of the schools’ unique programs, class offerings, prominent professors and alumni. The full report can be seen at
