Curriculum & Concentrations
We divide the online MSM into two parts: a 21 credit-hour core focusing on general business skills and a nine credit-hour concentration offering more detailed insight into a particular industry or segment of organizational operations.
The core presents a thorough introduction to leadership and management, touching on key theories and models you can begin to apply in your existing career. From here, you’ll learn more about analytics and statistical analysis, including how these increasingly essential competencies are integral to finance, information systems, management, and marketing. Completing this exploration are courses in management accounting and finance principles, organizational behavior, using information technology to improve business functions, marketing and strategy to achieve specific goals, and business law and ethics. You’ll then customize your degree with a concentration in one of the following areas:
Business Analytics
The Business Analytics concentration provides a foundation in problem-solving and data analysis skills by applying descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive models and methods for business decision-making.
Healthcare Administration
The Healthcare Administration concentration helps you gain the working knowledge and academic qualifications to lead in the rapidly changing healthcare environment. Through the Healthcare Administration coursework, you will formalize strategic business knowledge while gaining experience in healthcare policies, regulations and understanding patient healthcare needs. You will be prepared to grow in the many opportunities as a leader in the healthcare industry.
International Business
International Business is the future for commerce and business growth. Developing and enhancing leadership skills applicable to administrative roles both domestically and abroad are part of the ever-changing business landscape. The International Business concentration explores the business environment from a global perspective that examines international management, logistics, and multinational business practices.
Marketing
The Marketing concentration provides an in-depth opportunity for you to learn how to develop marketing plans that build on key concepts of consumer-based buying motivations, marketing research exploration of new trends, and integrating communication methods throughout the plan. Additionally, you will utilize technology and analytics to quantify marketing results and understand brand initiatives.
Nonprofit Leadership
Focused on leaders interested in working in the nonprofit sector, this concentration guides you to develop skills in adaptive leadership, administration, funding-raising techniques, grant-writing fundamentals, program evaluation, and financial reporting. You will also engage in data-informed decision-making to expand your mission-centered passion to serve and lead nonprofits within your communities.
Operations and Supply Chain Management
The Operations and Supply Chain Management concentration provides an understanding of operations which are an integral part of every organization. Through the specific courses, you will learn about project management, operations strategies, lean Six Sigma, inventory management, and the overall importance of supply chain processes. The skills and knowledge gained through this concentration are in demand in every industry.

How to Prepare for Difficult Conversations in the Workplace
Not sure how to have difficult conversations at work? Here are six steps that can help you develop a plan in advance of the meeting to ensure a win-win situation.
Define your version of success through a program that enhances your background to pave ahead more paths in the business world. The question isn’t, “What can I do?” but “Where will I go?”
ACU’s online MS in Management elevates what you know through your bachelor’s degree and work experience to help you visualize your goals, broaden your business toolkit, and prepare for leadership, decision-making, and management roles. At the same time, you strive for a higher calling — something that leaves an impact and uplifts others — and this program stresses the importance of making ethical decisions as you apply business theories.
As you think about what’s next, the online MSM:
- shows you the path forward into the business world, including skills employers value and how these concepts help you reach your goals;
- offers an ideal next step for recent college graduates and professionals with limited experience interested in gaining general business and management knowledge;
- provides a thorough introduction to the modern business world, including analytical competencies, management theories and applications, marketing, communications, and finance in local and international contexts;
- emphasizes the importance of ethical decision-making from a foundation of Christian values;
- instructs you in effectively guiding others — within your department and collective organization — to achieve particular goals and tackle various business challenges as a team;
- highlights real-world applications of business theories; and
- helps you determine your purpose as you foster an organization’s growth and culture.
Craft the roadmap for your career. The online MSM’s core and concentration courses amplify your undergraduate major to help you access more opportunities at entry-level points and beyond. Highlighting the need for this broad skill set, the Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts nine percent growth for management occupations and eight percent growth for business and finance positions between 2020 and 2030.
