Longtime ACU staff member Terry Wayne Bowman, 59, died Feb. 15, 2024, in Abilene, Texas. He was born June 9, 1964, in Abilene.
A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 24, at 2 p.m. at Hillcrest Church of Christ.
Bowman worked for ACU for more than 30 years, initially as a plumber and for the last 14 as director of off-campus properties for the Abilene Christian Investment Management Company. He has been married 23 years to Mary, an employee of HES, ACU’s facilities management company.
He eagerly sought opportunities to serve others, including making sure students who could not travel home for the holidays had a place to stay, providing meals, changing tires and jump-starting vehicles. He was one of Texas’ top-ranked 42 players who also loved hunting and spending time with his family.
Bowman was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne “Ted” and Norma Bowman; and a brother, Steve Bowman.
Among survivors are his wife, Mary; brothers Trevor Bowman and Ron Deming; children Joseph Monsivais, Brittini and Ely Mize, Brennen and Heather Bowman, and Leo and Sabrina Monsivais; and 11 grandchildren.
