ACU named Chronicle of Higher Education “Great College to Work For”

For 10 out of the last 11 years, ACU has been named a “Great College to Work For,” according to a new survey by The Great Colleges to Work For program.
The results, released today in a special insert of the Chronicle of Higher Education, are based on the more than 124,000 administrators, faculty members and professional support staff members at 236 colleges and universities surveyed. ACU is among only 60 four-year institutions to be honored.
The assessment had two portions: a questionnaire about the institution characteristics and a faculty/staff questionnaire about their individual evaluations.
Both last year and this year, ACU was recognized in three categories:
-Facilities, Workspace and Security: Facilities adequately meet needs, the appearance of the campus is pleasing, and the institution takes steps to provide a secure environment.
-Supervisor or Department-Chair Relationship: Supervisor makes expectations clear and solicits ideas
-Work/Life Balance: Policies give employees the flexibility to manage their personal lives.
“ACU’s faculty and staff are deeply dedicated to our mission to educate students for Christian service and leadership throughout the world. They passionately invest in students’ lives as they mentor, model and conduct research with them,” said ACU president Dr. Phil Schubert. “Our faculty and staff are Christ-centered, display a restless pursuit of excellence, celebrate creativity and innovation, and receive every student as created in the image of God, destined for greatness according to who he’s called them to be.”
