ACU faculty and subject matter experts from the Texas Rangers created and lead our RangersU courses. 

When you enroll in a RangersU course, you take the same course as MLB players. Each course is designed as a seven-week experience with week-long modules (plus an introductory module). A new module will open each week with access to course materials, readings, videos, discussions, and assignments. 

As a non-credit participant, you are welcome to participate as much or as little as you wish. We hope you will take full advantage of the opportunity and fully participate, but how far you wish to take your learning is up to you. Similarly, as non-credit participants, we won’t grade your work or provide feedback. We think the most valuable learning will occur in how you engage with the course materials, readings, videos and discussions with other RangersU participants. 

Yes, you can take the Baseball History and Culture and Leadership Development courses simultaneously. Both courses run from January 9, 2024 to February 26, 2024.

It’s simple. Explore our RangersU courses here. After finding what interests you, follow the prompts to register. 

The RangersU courses are conducted over seven weeks, with new content released weekly. You’ll want to keep a consistent pace to keep up with the community discussions and ongoing course activities. Additionally, you’ll have access to the course materials for 30 days after the course end date.

No, ACU does not offer refunds for the RangersU courses. Additionally, your course purchase is non-transferable. 

You may, however, join in anytime as long as the course is active (from the start date to the course’s end). Students who log in at least once before the course ends will retain access 30 days after the course concludes. 

No, RangersU courses are not eligible for federal financial aid.

This is a list of basic computer system requirements for the Canvas Learning Management System, ACU’s RangersU course hosting platforms. It’s always recommended to use the most up-to-date versions of operating systems and have a reliable internet connection. Canvas will still run with the minimum specifications, but you may experience slower loading times. Canvas and its hosting infrastructure are designed for maximum compatibility and minimal requirements.

Employer-issued computers may have potential firewall restrictions that can unintentionally limit your ability to access course content or receive emails. If you use a work computer, please check with your employer to ensure it is compatible with the platform’s requirements.

It depends. Most colleges and universities do allow for credit by exam transfer credits from another institution; however, some do not. You should check with your specific institution to determine eligibility and the amount of transfer credit allowed. While your credits never expire, your institution may have time limits that limit transfer credits after a certain amount of time.

INTG 140: Baseball History and Culture

An introduction to the history, culture, and social norms around baseball. The course provides an overview of the major historical developments of the sport along with the ways in which baseball has shaped American society and American society has shaped baseball. This course will emphasize the ways in which baseball has served to create community for fans and players alike, particularly during turbulent times.

LEAD 214 – Self-Assessment in Leadership
Lecture Hours: 3
Lab Hours: 0
Credit Hours: 3
Provides an introduction to how motivation and resiliency guide leadership development. Students learn how personal attributes potentially influence individual leadership styles. Students reflect on how their personal vocation and calling can potentially shape self-leadership skills.
