March 15, 2021 – Our Campus Return

Dear ACU Community,

As we all return to campus today, it’s important to remember ACU is still requiring face masks in all indoor buildings, including classrooms. We believe this is best for the health and well-being of the ACU community and our guests. We must remember that others on our campus may be at risk due to underlying health conditions, age or residing with someone in those categories.

While the state of Texas announced effective March 10 it would no longer require the wearing of face masks, the governor’s order strongly encourages individuals to continue wearing them, and states businesses and organizations may still require them. Like many other universities in Texas, ACU has chosen to err on the side of caution. We have a strong desire to keep our campus community safe so we can remain in a face-to-face learning environment. We know this is best for our students and faculty.

In addition to requiring masks indoors, we will continue to encourage masks outdoors when physical distancing is not possible or where congestion is likely to occur. Due to continued mask-wearing and social distancing, our students will have a much fuller, richer experience as we close out this semester. We are excited that chapel, Sing Song, intramurals, Candlelight Devo, Commencement, and fraternity and sorority activities will all be held.

We all long to return to our normal life and activities. One of the most special things about ACU is gathering in community, and we look forward to the time when we can be together in a mask-less environment and see one another’s smiles again.

All of us have worked tirelessly since last fall to have a successful academic year, and our plan has worked well. We are so close to the finish line.

We appreciate your support as we manage the things we can and continue to do our part to keep our campus community safe.

Go Wildcats!
