Revolution Pictures founder Randy Brewer began work in May as chief storyteller at Abilene Christian University. Brewer, a 1993 graduate of ACU, is a renowned creative force who has created memorable work with high-profile clients such as ESPN, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift, Verizon and Sony Pictures, among others.
Over the past 26 years Brewer has formed meaningful relationships with hundreds of filmmakers, brands and artists alike. His experience and commitment to innovative storytelling have earned him and Revolution Pictures some of the industry’s top awards including CMT Video of the Year, a Dove Award and an Academy of Country Music Award. In 2010 he was named ACU’s Young Alumnus of the Year. He has produced TV commercials for ACU on a contract basis in the past but will now be employed at ACU in a full-time role.
“We are excited to have Randy Brewer as our new chief storyteller,” said Dr. Phil Schubert, ACU president. “He is an accomplished storyteller and leader who brings a wealth of experience to the position. His innovative thinking and creative vision will help us tell the story of Abilene Christian University in a compelling way, as our profile rises as a national research university.”
Brewer also served as vice president of business development for Vū Studios, which brought an innovative virtual production technology to Nashville. In 2020, Brewer produced a series for Sony Pictures Affirm Films called “Finding Faith in Film,” which was the first project he produced using the new state-of-the-art technology. He then assisted Vū Studios in expanding to Nashville.
“At 52, I’m focused on my purpose in life more than ever – what will be my legacy, what have I done to help others, and what changes do I need to make that move me into doing that full time,” Brewer said. “I look forward to working with the ACU community to share its stories of faith, learning and service with the world.”
