Be challenged and inspired by the historically rich academic traditions of the “City of Dreaming Spires.” As one of the world’s great centers of faith and learning, Oxford is a charming city for exploration and discovery – a place as comfortable in cutting edge-science research as it is in unpacking timeless conversations on the meaning of life. Walk in the footsteps of J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis, and view their beautiful narratives through new eyes.
Centrally located in southeast England, Oxford makes an excellent base to visit many of Britain’s alluring landscapes and classic cities and towns. Adventures on the European continent are an easy journey away.
While living in England, you will study British culture, history and literature, as well as the works of some of the world’s greatest writers and thinkers. You’ll gain unique insights into the Oxfordian way of life as you you volunteer with local churches and nonprofits organizations, and have the opportunity to join local Christian communities.
Program excursions will take you into London or up to the magnificent English Lake District, as well as to places like Spain, France or Italy.
In the fall and spring semesters, you enroll in 12 general education credit hours. Summer programs are also offered in a variety of disciplines.

Accommodations
You will live in a remodeled Victorian house in fashionable North Oxford, a 15-minute walk from the historic city center, University Park, or to Port Meadow and its delightful riverside walks along the Thames.
ACU’s house in Oxford provides accommodation for about 24 students, has multiple bathrooms and kitchens, several study and sitting rooms, and a wonderful outside patio and back garden. Wireless internet access is available throughout, and local shops and restaurants are nearby.
