ACU’s online Bachelor of Science in Integrated Studies with Teacher Certification offers a thoughtfully designed curriculum that equips future educators with both practical skills and a strong theoretical foundation in education and psychology. Paraprofessionals with an existing associate’s degree could transfer up to 60 hours of credit, completing their degree in as little as two years.

Stephanie Wanamaker, Program Director
Stephanie Wanamaker is the program director and assistant professor for the online Bachelor of Science in Integrated Studies with Teacher Certification. She received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Texas Wesleyan University and a master’s degree in Psychology from California Baptist University. After years of online teaching and serving as a youth counselor, she felt called to dive deeper into her work in higher education with the goal of enhancing the student experience. She enjoys seeing students flourish in their understanding of psychology as they travel through their academic journey and pursue their careers. With her passion for teaching online, Stephanie aims to provide a learning experience for students that fosters meaningful relationships, so that they develop the skills for successful careers after graduation.

Alternative Certification Program for Teachers in partnership with TXITE
As part of the Bachelor of Science in Integrated Studies with Teacher Certification, students complete their educator preparation through the Texas Institute for Teacher Education (TXITE), a faith-based, fully online certification institution. Rooted in Christian values, the institute is committed to equipping future educators with EC-6 certification and the knowledge, wisdom and character needed to serve elementary students across Texas. With a vision to glorify God through professional service, the program prepares faith-driven teachers to lead with purpose – teaching students to think critically, act virtuously and live selflessly in diverse public school settings.

It’s Possible: How to Balance Work, Life, and Online School
Heading back to school? Even with online school, you will need a work-life balance. Here are some tips on how balancing life and online classes can work.
Students in the program will:
- Complete coursework in a flexible, transfer-friendly degree path that integrates academic knowledge with hands-on teacher training.
- Earn interdisciplinary skills in communication, psychology and leadership to foster inclusive, engaging and developmentally appropriate learning environments.
- Be supported in a faith-driven, purpose-led education program to lead you with integrity and make a meaningful impact in Texas public schools.
To be considered for admission, students must:
- Submit official high school with a minimum 2.5 GPA and/or college transcripts with a minimum 2.0 GPA.
- Complete the online program application accompanied by a non-refundable processing fee.
Students are not required to submit ACT or SAT scores.
Graduation Requirements: Students must earn a 2.5 GPA or higher to meet graduation requirements and complete at least 33 advanced hours.
