About the Program
Our Master of Education in Instruction and Learning gives students like you the opportunity to hone your instructional skills for the classroom. Through this program, you will earn a Texas Standard Teacher Certificate through our partnership with The Texas Institute for Teacher Education (TXITE), an approved EPP provider. The certification coursework is included in the cost of tuition and is delivered seamlessly with your ACU coursework, all in a fully online environment.
Program Structure
All the Details on Your Degree
The Master of Education in Instruction and Learning with Teacher Certification coursework specializes in preparing you to teach in classrooms early childhood through 6th grade. You’ll be introduced to tools and skills that will improve student learning, vocational formation and how to handle learning challenges. You will be taught about learning theory and how to design a curriculum for your classroom to help your students learn at their expected pace. Another important aspect of this program is instructional practice, so that you’ll be able to break down complex concepts for your future students.

Alternative Certification Program for Teachers in partnership with TXITE
As part of the Master of Education in Instruction and Learning with Teacher Certification, students complete their educator preparation through the Texas Institute for Teacher Education (TXITE), a faith-based, fully online certification institution.
You’ll begin with three consecutive 7-week terms of TXITE coursework, which fulfills the instructional requirements for teacher certification. Once the TXITE instructional sequence is complete (prior to clinical internship), you’ll transition into ACU’s graduate coursework to complete your master’s degree. Students earn a TEA-approved teacher certificate (subject to testing, fingerprinting, and field placement) and a master’s degree in education. ACU Online empowers you to become a one-of-a-kind educator with the help of a Christ-centered faculty and community.

Dr. Alline Sada, Master of Education in Instruction and Learning with Teacher Certification
Dr. Alline Sada is the assistant dean of K-12 leadership and educator development. She is a passionate educator with a multidisciplinary background in strategic planning, design thinking and educational technology. Dr. Sada brings expertise from a broad range of projects, including talent development, school improvement, product development, business operations, and workshop planning and facilitation. She advocates the mindful use of technology as a tool for teaching and learning and has served as a thought leader promoting the inclusion of technology with Google, Apple, ASCD and others. Dr. Sada received her Doctor of Education with a concentration in Global Educational Leadership from Lamar University.Â

To be considered for admission, students must:Â
- Complete the online program application accompanied by a non-refundable $50 processing fee.
- Submit official transcripts showing earned bachelor’s from a regionally accredited college or university or the equivalent with a cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Supply a current resume.
- Submit a written purpose statement, including philosophy of education.
- Have access to an accredited K-12 environmentÂ
Graduation Requirements: Students must earn a 3.0 GPA or higher to meet graduation requirements, including successfully completing all required courses and dissertation hours.
