The MSSW Program at Abilene Christian University was established in 2007 and is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. Housed in the School of Social Work, it includes both a Standard (2-year) program and an Advanced Standing (1-year program for graduates of CSWE accredited BSW programs).
Licensure in Social Work varies from state to state, with the master’s degree from a CSWE accredited program a virtually universal requirement. The following chart identifies the U.S. states and territories in which the ACU Master of Science in Social Work aligns with the various requirements for licensure, and includes contact information for the relevant entities regulating social work licensure in those states. It attempts to identify any special requirements that might exist in addition to a CSWE accredited degree, and jurisdictions where it has not been possible to make a determination if the curriculum meets the requirements.
