Once a month, we’ve asked ACU junior, Karissa Idoko, to reflect on her time as an ACU student. Her monthly insights on LinkedIn, which can be found here, are a way of documenting her life and saying, “This is my ACU!” As an international student from Nigeria, Idoko has a unique perspective that brings peace and positivity.
We hope you enjoy her monthly insights!

Going Home for Christmas!
“At Christmas, all roads lead home.” – Marjorie Holmes.
From ACU’s twinkling Christmas trees lighting up the nights to my growing excitement, I can’t wait to head home for the holidays! Since my first year in 2022, my family has made it a tradition to bring me home for Christmas—a much-needed break from the hustle of classes filled with family and friends, with the luxury of eating my country’s cuisine and having my laundry done for me.
But going home isn’t always simple for everyone. It can bring a mix of emotions—from excitement to nervousness. For all the parents and guardians who make these reunions possible, thank you for opening your hearts and homes to us every time.
As the holiday season begins, let’s value the warmth, joy, and reunions that come with it. Christmas is a time to reflect on the year gone by, treasure the ones we love, and make lasting memories. Below are my pictures from Christmas 2022 and 2023 in Nigeria.
How do you plan to spend your holiday season this year? Let’s share and spread the magic of Christmas! 🎄✨
