Living in a Community of Excellence
All incoming freshman Honors students residing on campus participate in our Honors Living Learning Community by living in our campus’ newest residence hall, Wessel Hall.
Pursue More
Honors isn’t about more work; it’s about richer experiences and more learning opportunities. Led by ACU’s finest academic minds, our students dive deeper to understand the subject matter and wrestle with all of its facets. Explore research in Honors classes, debate ideas in colloquia and push each other toward a more meaningful relationship with God. Are you ready?
Rise to the Challenge
“The challenges I’ve encountered through Honors College are good character development.
They’re pushing me so that I’m always developing a strong work ethic.”

Honors College Requirements
Honors Course Credits
All Honors students must complete six course credits. These are met by taking Honors sections of major-required courses, philosophy classes or Honors contracts in non-Honors courses.
Colloquia
All Honors students earn at least two colloquia credits. Colloquia are one-hour short courses, taught by some of the most sought after professors on campus, on fun topics full of discussion and interactive learning.
Honors Activity Credits
Depending on which Honors distinction you pursue, you must complete either three (Honors Graduate) or four (Honors Scholar) activity credits. Many options are available based on your personal interests and may include Honors contracts, colloquia, study abroad, internships and more.
Honors Project Thesis
To graduate as an Honors Scholar, an Honors Project Thesis must be completed in addition to the other requirements. The thesis is a senior project in your major completed with supervision by a committee. A seminar is required as part of the thesis.
Explore Your Opportunities
The Honors College encourages students to take advantage of opportunities such as study abroad, internships and mission trips. These high-impact activities add significant value to your student experience. The Honors College supports students in these activities through financial awards called Honors Travel Grants.
