Marriage and Family Therapy, MMFT (MFTH)

The Master of Marriage and Family Therapy (M.M.F.T.) at ACU is a two-year, 60-hour graduate program combining coursework and a 500-hour supervised clinical internship at the on-site Marriage and Family Institute. The program prepares graduates for the Marriage and Family Therapy National Exam and licensure in Texas while equipping them for ethical, client-focused clinical practice.
Graduates of the master’s in marriage and family therapy pursue careers as licensed marriage and family therapists in private practice, schools, adoption agencies, family service organizations, or continue toward doctoral study.
ACU’s M.M.F.T. program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education (COAMFTE). COAMFTE accredits master’s degree, doctoral degree and post-graduate degree clinical training programs in marriage and family therapy throughout the U.S. and Canada.
