Master of Education in Instruction and Learning

Program Description

ACU’s online Master of Education in Instruction and Learning (M.Ed.) program is built for educators like you who want to grow as master teachers and make a greater difference in the lives of students and peers. You’ll be equipped to navigate the growing diversity of today’s classrooms while advancing your career. Choose from one of three concentrations to combine data-driven decision-making with faith-based principles that reflect your values.

Advanced Standing Available

Teachers who have completed a Bachelor’s degree in Education or an Alternative Teaching Certification program in the last five years may be eligible to reduce the cost of their degree by qualifying for “Advanced Standing” to automatically gain up to 6 credit hours towards the M.Ed., depending on the concentration chosen – a savings of up to $4,000. Program Format

Accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges, the M.Ed. in Instruction and Learning consists of 30 credit hours with a completed timeframe between 18-20 months. Depending on your standing and affiliations, you may also be expected to complete additional courses to fulfill specific requirements. This online degree prepares current educators to serve students through evidence-based practices, effective teaching, learning and leading techniques for classrooms of all shapes and sizes.

ACU offers a special discount to reduce tuition costs for current educators in participating ISDs who are seeking to earn their master’s degree and enhance their professional careers.

Teacher Certification Options

As a student in ACU’s Master of Education in Instruction and Learning, you’ll have the opportunity to pursue teacher certification alongside your degree. This integrated pathway is built to set you up for success in the classroom while helping you meet the professional and academic requirements for certification in Texas.

You’ll be co-enrolled in an educator preparation program (EPP) of your choice such as TXITE (Texas Institute for Teacher Education), your regional education service center or another approved partner that matches your career goals and local needs.

These certification programs provide full support with coursework, field experience and test prep, giving you the tools you need to meet Texas licensure requirements. By co-enrolling in a certification program, you can seamlessly blend teacher training into your undergraduate experience, making it easier to launch your teaching career right after graduation.
