Self-Awareness

This workshop focuses on helping participants develop a deeper understanding of their emotions and how they affect their behavior. Through interactive exercises and group discussions, participants will learn to recognize and regulate their emotions, identify their triggers, and develop a greater sense of self-awareness. They will also explore the benefits of mindfulness practices and learn how to apply them in their daily lives.

Self-Expression

This workshop helps participants learn how to express themselves healthily and constructively by managing their emotions and behaviors. Through group discussions, experiential exercises, and reflection, participants will learn how to communicate their feelings effectively. They will also learn how to create a safe space for others to do the same through group-guided discussions and showing empathy in their interactions.

Interpersonal Relationships

This workshop focuses on building strong and healthy relationships with others. Through group exercises and discussions, participants will explore the dynamics of different relationships, such as personal, educational, and professional. They will learn to identify and communicate their boundaries, as well as how to handle conflict and build trust.

Decision-Making

This workshop helps participants learn how to make thoughtful and effective decisions, both personally and professionally. Through case studies, role-playing, and other activities, participants will learn to weigh their options, consider the consequences of their choices, and develop a decision-making process that works for them. They will also explore the role of intuition and learn how to balance it with rational thinking.

Stress Management

This workshop focuses on helping participants develop coping strategies for managing stress. Through mindfulness practices, relaxation techniques, and other stress-reducing exercises, participants will learn how to identify the sources of their stress and develop a personalized plan for managing it. They will also explore the link between stress and emotions and learn how to develop resilience in adversity.

Meet an Instructor

Dr. Joenie Myers

Dr. Joenie Myers serves as Director of Program Development and Design for ACU’s Executive Education and Professional Advancement division, where she leads the development of innovative learning programs and strategic training initiatives. With more than 15 years of experience in higher education, communication, instructional design, coaching, and mentoring, she is passionate about helping individuals grow as leaders and communicators.

Dr. Myers specializes in leadership development, curriculum design, and instructional strategy, creating learner-centered experiences that support professional growth and organizational success. She also serves as adjunct faculty in ACU’s Applied Communication program and has taught a variety of communication and leadership courses at the university level.
