President: Jael Morel
Jael is from Tegucigalpa, Honduras, and is a Junior majoring in Digital Entertainment and Technology, with a minor in Computer Science and Business. She likes to play the guitar, and to worship with her friends in various languages. Jael has a huge love for ISA and is thrilled to serve the community through her role as president. Be prepared for an awesome experience with the ISA family this year. We will do everything we can to help you grow and thrive through this community!
Vice President: Takuma Tsuneki
Takuma is from Mito, Japan, and is a senior with a major in English education and a minor in Bible. He has been part of the ISA and Third Culture Kids family from his freshman year, and loves to welcome new students into the community. You may find Takuma making something in the Maker Lab, taking a walk along the Lunsford with his dog, or dozing off at the library. If you ever do, don’t hesitate to say hi and catch up on life!
Secretary: Claudia Panta
Claudia was born and raised in Lima, Peru. She is a sophomore music performance major minoring in theater. Her main instrument is the flute but she loves to sing and play the piano. Apart from studying, she enjoys spending her time crocheting, challenging herself with more intricate designs for her friends. You can always catch her smiling or laughing and she is very excited to meet new friends, learn about their cultures and create fun memories with the ISA family.
Treasurer: Ayaka Miyake
Ayaka is from Yokohama, Japan. She is a junior with a major in mathematics and minors in biochemistry and business with concentration in pre-medicine and in actuarial science. She came to the United States as an exchange student in Balmorhea, TX when she was a senior in high school. She is a TA and a tutor for lower mathematics classes. She has been working to increase our budget and make sure that it is used wisely. Come to our ISA events to get some memorable and valuable experiences! If you have any questions about ISA or Mathematics, she is the one you can ask for help!
Chaplain: Keren Lemus
Born and raised in Guatemala, Keren is a senior Interior Design and Architecture student major. She is also minoring in Business and Bible Studies. Do not be surprised if you find her singing, dancing and cooking at the same time, three of the things she enjoys the most. Her great desire to learn and experience new things had led her to be involved in different activities on and off campus. One of her greatest passions is serving others. She hopes her role at ISA will help students live a more intentional life in Christ.
Marketing Director: Javier Soto
Javier, a Graphic Design/Advertising major born and raised in Honduras. Loves to hang out with people and enjoys challenging himself to new things. Javier is minoring in Multimedia and spends most of his time learning. He is also the kind of person who you can never know what he is thinking about; he is a very “spontaneous” person, in a good way. He is excited to be part of the wonderful family that is ISA and hopes to serve and learn in the process.
Community Director: Matthew Guild
Matthew was born in Arkansas (USA) but grew up in Mwanza, Tanzania. He is a sophomore Kinesiology major with a Pre-Physical Therapy track, which basically means he likes to figure out how the human body works, and find ways to keep the body working how it was created to work. He is also a strong believer that Rugby is the greatest sport known to mankind, however he is happy to discuss this with anyone willing to listen. Even more than that however he loves to share experiences and cultures with friends new and old!
Historian: Miranda Ramirez
Miranda is a junior Computer Science major, minoring in business, from Guatemala. She enjoys spending time with friends and binge watching Netflix shows. Also, she loves to have coffee and talk with friends. She likes to help others and learn about new cultures. She is excited to be part of the ISA family, and hopes she can help other international students feel like home here at ISA.
Advisor: Veronica Summers
Veronica was born and raised in Cebu City, Philippines and moved to the U.S. in 2009 to attend ACU. During her time as a student she was very involved in ISA and served as President in the 2011-12 school year. Veronica graduated in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in Family Studies and is currently working on completing her Master’s Degree in Liberal Arts. She also serves as the International Student Services Specialist here on campus. As the ISA advisor, she hopes to provide adequate support and guidance to the ISA officer team to foster their growth as emerging leaders throughout the world.
