Welcome to the Margarett and Herman Brown Library at Abilene Christian University. From within the walls of our facility and through our online resources, the associated departments of ACU’s Brown Library operate as the academic heart of the university. In short, we make magic happen.
At any given moment, first-year students could be locating the texts that transform their lives; visiting scholars may be discovering primary sources in our special collections and archives; and groups of students may be learning essential digital tools in the Innovation Foundry while others are harnessing their entrepreneurial talents in the Maker Lab.
At a place like ACU, we also believe in the evidence of things not seen, and the things we can’t see here on campus in Abilene are just as central to the library’s mission and purpose — the faculty member on sabbatical leave reading an electronic book from our collection, the Dallas business student using a market research report in a way that grows her business, the student in his room at ACU’s Leipzig villa experiencing a Bach concerto for the first time through one of our streaming databases. What we do within the walls of the ACU library is important, yes, but our reach is global, and our impact never sleeps.
The heart of our work is an incredibly talented and passionate faculty and staff. They are eager to help you navigate this exciting world, no matter who you are or where you’re located. Stop by and say hello, send us an email, or shoot us a text.
We’re glad you’re here.
For the Purple and White,
James
