Students helping freshman move in

New Student Move-in

  • All students should plan to arrive in Abilene in time for move-in.
  • Residence Life will offer an early move-in time for Freshman. Students wishing to move in early are required to get approval at least 48 hours in advance.
  • Students will not be permitted to move in prior to the early move-in date indicated above so please plan accordingly. Should you arrive before this date, you will be responsible for making arrangements for your own accommodations.
  • Please also be aware that students will NOT be permitted to move into their residence halls until you have completed financial settlement and received your meningitis vaccination.

New Student Orientation

  • New Student Orientation is required for all new students.
  • During this time students will be able to participate in several activities which will include lunch, an open house/reception, a campus tour, immigration check-in and a student resource fair.
  • INTL101 is mandatory for all new international students (F1/J1). US Citizens with international backgrounds are welcome to attend as well but it is not required.

Arrival Information

  • All new international students are asked to fill out an arrival form so that we are able to make necessary arrangements before you arrive on campus.
  • Complimentary airport pickups will be available from the Abilene Regional Airport (ABI) when you arrive. Please notify us of your arrival information as soon as you book your flight by filling out this form.

International Student Insurance

To help protect our students from these costs, ACU requires all international students and exchange visitors to purchase the ACU group policy through GeoBlue, which meets the U.S. Department of State guidelines. The university will enroll each incoming student in this policy.  Here is the current policy information:

Insurance Carrier: GeoBlue
Insurance company phone: 1-844-268-2686
Student online access: download the GeoBlue app, or www.geobluestudents.com
Email customer service: customerservice@geo-blue.com

View the current policy here

You are welcome to have another insurance policy in addition to the ACU policy. However, even with outside insurance, you must still purchase a GeoBlue policy with the ACU group.

Insurance charges are automatically placed on the student’s ACU account each semester.

Students are charged the premiums for 5 months in the Fall semester (August – December), and 7 months in the Spring semester (January – July). Coverage is continued during the summer months for continuing students who were enrolled full-time in the previous spring semester.

Your insurance charges are included on your I-20 and DS-2019 cost information.
