Determining Student Financial Sufficiency

Current ACU estimates are available for international undergraduate students and international graduate students. Please note that these estimates do not include transportation, travel, clothing, personal items, entertainment or emergency funds, which you should include in your personal budget.

Scholarships and graduate assistantships awarded by ACU may count toward the total amount of support needed. Please submit documents of any additional scholarships you receive from ACU and outside sources with your personal and sponsor’s financial documents.

Required Documents

  1. International Student Financial Statement
  2. International Sponsor Financial Statement from each of your sponsors
  3. If your sponsors are not immediate family members (father, mother, brother or sister), submit a personal bank statement showing at least $4,000 USD to cover some of your initial expenses.
  4. A letter from your sponsor’s bank or financial institution, on institutional letterhead, with a certification statement in English confirming the balance (in U.S. dollars) of the owner. The letter must include the name, signature, title, date and contact information of the bank or financial institution and an official seal or stamp.
  5. Copies of recent bank statements that support the information in the bank letter
    1. Checking account statements must include at least three months’ history.
    2. Business accounts must be accompanied by documents proving sole proprietorship by the sponsor or an official letter signed by all owners approving the sponsorship.
