ACU’s School of Nursing offers an approved Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) training program.

Tuition for this eight-week, online program is $950.  Exam fees for state testing are not included in CNA program tuition.  Testing fees are $125, paid directly to Prometric at the time that the student schedules the exam.


Must be employable in a Department of Disability and Aging regulated facility or agency and pass the Employability Status Check.  This search will return consolidated results from the Texas Nurse Aide Registry, Medication Aide Registry and Employee Misconduct Registry.  Results will include the subject’s status on the individual registries and determination if the status makes the subject unemployable in a regulated facility or agency.

A person is unemployable if he or she:

  • is listed on the Employee Misconduct Registry
  • is revoked on the Nurse Aide Registry
  • has a criminal conviction that is listed as an automatic bar to employment in Health and Safety Code Chapter 250

  • Blood pressure cuff

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the state regulations, CNA students are not being allowed into skilled nursing facilities for clinical, therefore the required shots are no longer required for this program.  However, if you are wanting to work as a CNA after receiving your certification you will be required to have your shots and immunizations to work as a CNA.
