ACU makes "Great College to Work For" list for 8th year

The Chronicle of Higher Education named ACU a 2017 “Great College to Work For” in its report recognizing institutions that have created exceptional work environments.
The university has earned a spot on the list for the last eight out of nine years. This year, ACU was honored in three categories:
1. Facilities, Workspace and Security: Facilities meet employees’ needs, and the campus looks good.
2. Supervisor or Department-Chair Relationship: Supervisors or chairs solicit ideas and make expectations clear.
3. Work/Life Balance: Policies give employees flexibility to manage their lives on the job and at home.
“ACU’s faculty and staff are deeply dedicated to our mission to educate students for Christian service and leadership throughout the world,” said Abilene Christian University President Dr. Phil Schubert. “They passionately invest in students’ lives as they mentor, model and conduct research with them. Our faculty and staff are Christ-centered, display a restless pursuit of excellence, celebrate creativity and innovation, and receive every student as created in the image of God, destined for greatness according to who He’s called them to be.”
The Chronicle surveyed approximately 45,000 administrators, faculty members and professional support staff members at 232 colleges and universities. The publication also gathered an institutional audit of information on demographics and workplace policies from each institution.
ACU is among only 57 four-year institutions to be honored.
