Bob McDonald, retired president, board chair and CEO for Procter & Gamble and a pioneer in the areas of global trade and economic growth, recently visited the ACU campus where he addressed students in the College of Business Administration. He also was featured in COBA’s Distinguished Speaker Series luncheon in the Hunter Welcome Center, an event well attended by members of the Abilene business community.
Under McDonald’s leadership, P&G saw annual sales of more than $84 billion, and its stock price increased by 60 percent. In 2007, McDonald received the inaugural Leadership Excellence Award from the U.S. Naval Academy and Harvard Business Review. He has received three honorary doctorates and served as chair of the Board of Visitors for the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University. McDonald continues to serve on the boards of international organizations, including the U.S.-China Business Council and Business Roundtable.
Listen as McDonald discusses the influence of family, formative memories and the choice he’s made over the course of his career “to choose the harder right.”
