Two of the five Abilene Christian University students injured in a tragic two-vehicle accident last night remain hospitalized this afternoon.
As reported early Saturday morning, a sixth – 20-year-old junior Lindsey Smith of New Braunfels, Texas – died at the scene, as did the driver of the other vehicle, 27-year-old Jeffrey Dane Davis of Abilene. Davis was not an ACU student.
Rebekah Cherniss is listed in critical condition in Hendrick Medical Center, while Deanna Robero is in good condition. Three other students were treated and released about 1 a.m. Saturday: Robert “Bo” Braddock, Eric Terrazas and Colleen “Callie” Kerbo.
There will be a special time of prayer and praise for the ACU community at the Nine O’Clock devo Sunday night in University Church of Christ auditorium, and all are invited to attend. On Monday, ACU’s Chapel at 11 a.m. in Moody Coliseum – watch online here – also will be devoted to supporting each other during this difficult time.
