Abilene Christian University’s amazing alumni and friends once again demonstrated their commitment to ACU students’ success by meeting and exceeding a pair of matching gift challenges this spring.
After an anonymous donor earlier this spring challenged ACU’s donors to give $100,000, the response was so overwhelming, a second donor expanded it with another $40,000.
All $140,000 was matched and helped push fiscal year 2012 alumni participation up by more than 15 percent over where it was in 2011.
“The Exceptional Fund is a reflection of the grassroots support for ACU that characterizes our alumni, friends and both current and past parents,” said Craig Fisher (’92), director of alumni relations and annual projects. “We are blessed beyond measure to have so many people rooting for our students with their volunteer time and financial gifts.”
Gifts to the Exceptional Fund provide funds for student scholarships, ACU’s world-class faculty and innovative programs that enrich the experience of every student. The Advancement Office website is a great place to learn more about how students’ lives are being changed through Exceptional Fund gifts.
The 2012 fiscal year began June 1, 2011, and ended May 31.
