The No. 3-seeded Abilene Christian University volleyball team rallied in its fifth set to win its match this afternoon in the quarterfinals of the Lone Star Conference tournament in Canyon, Texas. The Wildcats, who qualified with a 20-12 record and wins in 10 of their last 12 matches, beat sixth-seeded Cameron University, 20-25, 26-24, 25-16, 18-25 and 19-17.
They advance to the semifinals at 5 p.m. Friday to face the winner of the Angelo State vs. Midwestern State match.
At the LSC banquet earlier this week, senior Jennie Hutt was named first-team all-LSC and Academic Player of the Year.
The tournament began today and runs through Saturday at The Box on the campus of West Texas A&M University. Follow the action on ACU’s sports website.
