A Tailor-Made Bride, authored by Karen (Gaskin ’93) Witemeyer, has been named a finalist in the Best First Book category of the 2011 RITA Awards by the Romance Writers of America. Up to 1,200 romance novels and novellas from 12 categories of entrants are judged each year, with Rita Award winners to be announced in July.
Witemeyer’s second book is Head in the Clouds, and a third, To Win Her Heart, is due in May 2011. All three are published by Bethany House, the leader of Christian fiction books, and a division of Baker Publishing Group.
She is a member of the Abilene Writers Guild and serves as ACU’s coordinator for university testing.
