ACU’s Rankin featured on Apple’s website

Dr. William Rankin, ACU’s director of educational innovation and an associate professor of English, is featured on Apple’s website. Rankin was named an Apple Distinguished Educator in 2009, and was selected in 2010 as one of two Texas educators to serve for a year on the honor’s advisory board.
The Apple Distinguished Educator Advisory Board includes representatives from 35 nations.
“My task as part of this team is to work with outstanding educators here and abroad to provide the support and resources that will help them as they continue their groundbreaking work,” he said. “We help to create events and spaces where they can collaborate, share ideas and inspire one another, and then they take that energy back to their own schools, serving their students in new, exciting ways.”
Rankin, who was a presenter/moderator at this week’s 2011 Connected Summit at ACU, is one of the most sought-after speakers in the world for his expertise in the study of mobile learning.
He authors “Beyond the Printed Page,” a feature story in the upcoming Winter 2011 issue of ACU Today, providing insights into how ACU is partnering with global leaders in publishing and technology to re-imagine the future of books.
