ACU Transfer Scholarships

At Abilene Christian University, we understand that education is a significant investment for our students and their families. We’re committed to making the ACU experience as affordable as possible for everyone by offering an innovative tuition model,
institutional financial aid, no-interest payment plans, a pre-paid tuition option, resources to external funding, and access to a team of financial aid professionals to help guide you through the process.

Scholarship Promise

Students transferring to ACU within one year of their high school graduation date will qualify for the previous year’s freshman academic scholarships. To qualify for these awards, students must submit their final high school transcript and ACT/SAT scores.

Admitted students will be notified of their scholarship level at the time of acceptance, or students can contact the transfer admission counselor to find out what scholarship they could receive.

Transfer Merit Awards

For undergraduate students only, transferring to ACU with high academic standing. Based on cumulative GPA from all previous colleges.

  • 3.30 to 4.00 GPA = $10,000 per year - Transfer Merit I
  • 2.85 to 3.29 GPA = $8,000 per year - Transfer Merit II
  • 2.50 to 2.84 GPA = $7,000 per year - Transfer Merit III

Must be an admitted student. Must provide an ocial transcript of all classes prior to ACU. Must maintain a minimum GPA to maintainscholarship - 3.20 GPA for Transfer Merit I; 3.00 GPA for Transfer Merit II; 2.50 GPA for Transfer Merit III.

Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship

Students that are members of the Phi Theta Kappa honors society will receive a $1,000 renewable scholarship. The scholarship is valid for up to three annual block tuition plans while pursuing first undergraduate degree. Not for classes outside of annual block tuition.


  • Be a full-time undergraduate transfer student with a high school diploma or GED
  • Have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and 24 transferable credit hours
  • Enroll immediately following a two-year college
  • Provide ocial documentation of Phi Theta Kappa membership prior to the posted financial settlement deadline

Renewal Requirements:

  • Maintain full-time enrollment
  • Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0

Transfer Student Transition Grant

This award provides financial assistance to undergraduate transfer students, based on need as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This grant is valid for up to three annual block tuition plans while pursuing first undergraduate degree. Notfor classes outside of annual block tuition.


  • Transfer to ACU in good standing with previous university
  • Enroll full-time each semester

Renewal Requirements:

  • Maintain satisfactory academic progress
  • Maintain full-time enrollment
