ACU Career Expo brings together students, alumni and employers, April 1

The ACU College of Business Administration is hosting a career expo from 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., in the McCaleb Conference Center in the Hunter Welcome Center, Wednesday, April 1. The inaugural ACU Career Expo will bring many employers and graduate school partners to the ACU campus and allow the student body to engage and network with these contacts to benefit their careers.

"As the economy went into a decline as early as last fall, those working in COBA and the ACU Career Center decided it was imperative to move forward with this event and bring in those employers who consistently visit campus to hire our graduates," said Troy Stirman, ACU's director of career and alumni development.

Employers from across the region will be distributing information about their respective organizations and will be able to engage student and alumni attendees.

Some of the more than 20 employers involved in the event include:
• Genesis Networks Solutions
• Alcatel-Lucent
• Bank of America,
• Condley & Company
• Weaver & Tidwell, LLP
• PFSWeb
• US Army

"The climate within the business community is very unstable right now, and many firms are choosing not to hire any new employees at this time," said Stirman. "Those attending the ACU Career Expo will discover which firms are still in hiring mode and will be able to personally deliver resumes and references to the decision makers within these firms."
