Abilene Christian University recently released the 2007 Minister Salary Survey results. The survey, conducted by Dr. Charles Siburt, vice president for church relations at ACU, measured the current levels of compensation for ministers in the Churches of Christ.
"The results document the current compensation range for ministers," said Siburt. "This information provides powerful information for reassessment and reevaluation of ministers’ compensation packages."
Survey findings revealed that most ministers are employed full time, are married and their primary responsibilities include preaching. It also showed that the average church staff includes one to two full-time ministers, and education is directly related to salary. The average survey participant earned a bachelor’s degree or higher.
Ministers of varying ages, ministry positions and church sizes participated in this survey.
